William F. Goodrich was the son of Amos Goodrich of Middlebury, Vt. In 1838 he went to New York State to sell beehives for John M. Weeks; letters from 1838 and 1839 to Weeks (in the Weeks family papers) describe his work. He appears to have returned to Vermont shortly afterwards and settled in Salisbury where he was a farmer. Otis Goodrich, William's brother, is mentioned in William's letters and diary. There is very little information about him elsewhere but there is evidence that he lived in S...
